Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara Wall Hanging is a hand painted Buddhist scroll representing Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of compassion. The Sanskrit name Avalokiteshvara is commonly understood as "the lord who looks upon the world with compassion."
In this traditional form, Avalokiteshvara is represented with eleven heads and a thousand arms. The many eyes and hands symbolize the ability to perceive the suffering of sentient beings and extend compassionate help wherever it is needed. This powerful imagery represents compassion, kindness, protection, and the wish to benefit all beings.
The wall hanging is hand painted on thick Lokta paper by master artist Jimmy Thapa. Bamboo beams at the top and bottom help the scroll hang straight, while the flexible Lokta paper allows it to be rolled for convenient storage or packing. It is suitable for meditation rooms, Buddhist centers, prayer spaces, yoga studios, and spiritual home decoration.
